MAKE TASTY KACHA PAPITA KI SABJI
(RAW PAPAYA RECIPE) IN JUST 10 STEPS
Ingredients
- Raw Papaya- ½ Kg
- Gram Flour (Besan)- 1 Cup
- Onion- 2 Medium Size
- Tomato- 1 Medium Size
- Carom Seeds (Ajwain)- 1 Tbsp
- Red Chilli Powder- 1 ½ Tbsp
- Turmeric Powder- 2 Tbsp
- Cumin Powder (Jeera Powder)- 1 Tbsp
- Coriander Powder- 2 Tbsp
- Salt- 2 Tbsp
- Green Chillies (Hari Mirchi)- 2-3 Fine Chopped
- Garlic (Lehsun)- 8-9 Pieces
- Ginger (Adrak)- 2 Inch
- Cumin Seeds (Jeera)- 1 Tbsp
- Bay Leaves (Tej Patta)- 2 Leaves
- Cloves (Laung)- 3-4 Pieces
- Oil- 1 Cup
- Water- 2 Glasses
STEP-1
Preparing and Cooking Raw Papaya in the Pressure Cooker

To make kacha papita ki sabji (raw papaya sabji), we will first wash the raw papaya thoroughly, peel it and cut it into medium size pieces. Now when our raw papaya is cut, we will put it in a pressure cooker and cook it till 2 whistles come. Guys, here we will add one tablespoon of salt in the pressure cooker along with raw papaya.

Preparing Pakoras and Masala for Kacha Papita Ki Sabji

Friends, now till the time we get a whistle in our raw papaya sabji, we will make pakoras to put in the kacha papita ki sabji. And at the same time, we will also prepare the ingredients to make the masala for the raw papaya sabji. Friends, pakoras taste very delicious in any papaya vegetable, so definitely make and put it.
STEP-3
Preparing Pakora Batter & Masala for Raw Papaya Sabji

So to make pakoras, first of all we will put 1 cup gram flour in a bowl and then add 1 tbsp carom seeds, 1 tbsp coriander powder, ½ tbsp red chilli powder, 1 tbsp turmeric powder and then add little water and make a smooth paste. So now the gram flour paste is ready for making pakoras. Now to make the masala for kacha papita ki sabji, we will take 2 medium size onions, 1 medium size tomato, 2-3 fine chopped green chillies, 7-8 pieces of garlic and 1 small piece of ginger. Friends, here we have chopped the onion and tomatoes and have coarsely ground the ginger and garlic.
STEP-4
Frying the Gram Flour Pakoras for Kacha Papita Ki Sabji

Friends, now we will put a pan on the gas and put about a cup of oil in it. Now as soon as the oil gets hot, we will make small round balls of ground flour pakoras. Friends, when our pakoras are ready, we will take them out on a plate and keep them aside.

Tempering with Spices and Frying Ginger-Garlic Paste

Now we will let 2-3 tbsp oil remain in the pan and take out the rest of the oil and keep it in a separate container. Now we will add cumin seeds and also add bay leaves and 4 cloves. Friends, now after seasoning, we will add ginger garlic paste and fry till it becomes golden brown.
STEP-6
Sauteing Green Chillies, Onions, and Tomatoes

Friends, now our ginger garlic has turned golden brown, so now we will put green chillies in it and then after about 2-3 minutes we will put onions in it and cook them well till they also turn golden brown. Friends, now our onions have also turned golden brown, so we will put tomatoes in it and cook them well. To make the tomatoes ripen quickly you can put half tbsp salt on the tomatoes; this will make the tomatoes ripen quickly.
STEP-7
Adding Spices to Enhance the Taste of Raw Papaya Sabji

Friends, now when our tomatoes are cooked well, we will add 1 Tablespoon Turmeric Powder, 1 Tablespoon Cumin Powder, 1 Tbsp Coriander Powder and 1 Tablespoon Red Chilli Powder in it. Friends, you can add more or less spices as per your taste. Now we will not add salt here at all because we added one tablespoon of salt while boiling raw papaya. If there is less salt in the vegetable, you can add it later as well.
STEP-8
Cooking the Spices with Water to Prevent Burning

Friends, to ensure that the spices do not burn, we will add half a cup of water in the spices and while stirring well with a ladle, we will cook the spices on almost medium to low flame for 3-4 minutes.

Mixing Cooked Papaya and Pakoras with Spices

Now as soon as our spices are cooked well, we will add papaya and pakoras into it and while mixing it with the spices, we will cook it well on medium flame for 5-7 minutes and then turn off the gas flame.
