Shahi Paneer Ingredients:-

  • Paneer- 150 Gram
  • Amul Cream – 1 Small Bowl
  • Red Chilli Powder- 1 Tbsp
  • Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder- 1 Small Tbsp
  • Coriander Powder- 1 Tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder- 1 Small Tbsp
  • Whole Spices (Khada Masala)- 1 Small Bowl or 1 large Tbsp
  • Onion- 2 Medium Size
  • Tomato- 3 Large Size
  • Garlic- 7-8 Pieces
  • Ginger- 2 inch
  • Green Chilli- 3-4 piece
  • Oil- 2-3 Tbsp
  • Butter- 1 Tbsp
  • Coriander leaves- For Garnishing

STEP-1
Preparing the Base for Shahi Paneer

Friends, to make Shahi Paneer, first of all we will put 1 large tablespoon of oil in a pan. When the oil becomes hot, we will put our whole spices in it and then after that we will add ginger and garlic and keep stirring it till it becomes light brown and along with that we will also add green chillies in it. Green chillies add a very good taste to Shahi Paneer, so do not skip green chillies.

Adding Onions and Tomatoes

Now when our ginger and garlic become light brown, we will add medium sized cut onion in it and fry it till it becomes light brown. Friends, here we will not cut the onion and tomatoes very finely because after lightly sauteing them, we will grind them in the mixer and make a fine paste.

Now when our onion becomes light brown, we will add tomatoes to it and cook it well so that the tomatoes get cooked well and there is no rawness in it. To make tomatoes ripen, we will add ½ tbsp salt after adding tomatoes. This will make our tomatoes ripen quickly.

Preparing the Masala for Shahi Paneer

Now when our tomatoes are well cooked, we will add 1 Tablespoon Red Chilli Powder, 1 Tablespoon Coriander Powder and 1 Small Tablespoon turmeric powder and mix them well. Now our Shahi Paneer masala is ready, so guys, we will turn off the gas flame and keep the masala aside to cool down.

Grinding the Masala and Cooking the Gravy Shahi Paneer

Now when our masala cools down, we will grind it well in the mixer. Friends, here the fine paste of our Shahi Paneer masala is ready, so now we will put the pan/kadhai on the gas and put 1 tbsp oil or 1 tbsp butter in it. When our oil gets hot, we will add the tempering of bay leaves in it and then add our prepared paneer masala and cook it well. 

Friends, if the gravy is very thick, then we will add one cup water in it and cook it on low to medium flame for 7-8 minutes. Now when our gravy is cooked well, we will add 1 tbsp Kashmiri Red chilli powder and salt as per taste and cook it well with the gravy.

Adding Cream and Final Cooking

Friends, along with adding salt and Kashmiri red chilli, we will also add Amul’s fresh cream and saute it on medium flame for 5-7 minutes to cook everything well.

Adding Paneer to the Gravy

Friends, now our Shahi Paneer gravy is prepared well, so we will add paneer pieces in it and cook it on medium flame for 3-4 minutes so that the paneer gets mixed well with the gravy.

  • If you don’t have cream, you can also use homemade malai (cream collected from milk) and instead of water you can use almost half a cup of full cream milk.
  • Friends, if you have a little more tomatoes or the gravy seems a little sour, then if you add approximately half a tablespoon of sugar, its sourness will be eliminated.
  • If your gravy has become thin then you can add some cream to it or grind some cashews and almonds and add them, this will make the gravy thick and it will taste better too.
